Wagering requirements are the single most misunderstood part of a casino welcome bonus. Here's what the number actually means and how to calculate it yourself.
The Basic Formula
A wagering requirement tells you how many times you must bet a bonus amount (or sometimes your deposit plus bonus) before you can withdraw any winnings connected to it. A 20x requirement on a RM50 bonus means wagering RM1,000 in total before those funds are unlocked.
Why It Exists
Without a wagering requirement, players could claim a bonus and withdraw it immediately without playing at all. The requirement exists so bonuses function as an incentive to actually use the platform, not as free cash.
What to Check Alongside It
The headline wagering multiple isn't the whole story. Also check which games count toward the requirement (some contribute fully, others partially or not at all), and the expiry window you have to complete it. A lower multiple with a short expiry can be harder to clear than a higher one with more time.
